In memory of 

Sylvia E. Klotz

Sylvia was born in Toledo, OH in 1927. She graduated from Monclova HS in 1946 and the University of Toledo in 1950 with a major in Biology and Chemistry. She enjoyed a long career as a medical assistant and was a founding member of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). She was a founding member of the Toledo Medical Assistants Association, Life member of AAMA, past president of the Ohio State Society of Medical Assistants, and American Business Women’s Association. Sylvia served on the Board of Directors of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and was a member of the Toledo Zoological Society and Toledo Orchestra Association. Sylvia’s career as a medical assistant/lab technologist spanned over fifty years.

Dear Members;

At this time of the year, as we tend to rush about, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy Holiday Season and to thank you for your support of our chapter.  Because of your membership in our chapter, we continue to have monthly meetings with speakers and CEUs.  Because of you, we represent our chapter at the annual meeting of the Ohio State Society of Medical Assistants.  Because of you, we work hard to stay abreast of the new technology that affects our jobs. Therefore, because of you, we are the Toledo and Lucas County Chapter of Medical Assistants.

As we approach the new year, the officers of the chapter and I wish you a Happy New Year and invite you to join us on Thursday December 10 at 7:00pm at the Academy of Medicine on Secor Road as we celebrate this season with snacks and desserts (I am sure there will be chocolate of some kind).  So bring your favorite holiday treat!  On January 14, 2010, we will be having a speaker on the Cancer Registry at 7:00pm at the Academy of Medicine.

I hope you will join on this coming Thursday.
