The Summit County Chapter of Medical Assistants held  a summser meeting at the home of our new President, Rebecca Gibson-Lee in July to go over plans for our 2008-2009 year.  We ended our regular season  (2007-2008) in May with  an installation dinner for our new officers.  Our new officers are: President-Becky Gibson-Lee, Vice-Pres-Teresa Thompson, Rec Sec-Diane Wendelken, Corresponding Sec-Jennifer Krimaschewicz, Treasurer-Eileen Mathews. 

After trying to change our monthly meetings to Saturday mornings, we have decided to go back to Tuesday evenings for the 2008-2009 year.  Attendance was not what we had hoped for Saturdays.  Our meetings will be on the first Tuesday of every month, starting in September and are held at Childrens Medical Center Auditorium in Akron.  We will have one hour of lecture worth 1CEU and then our business meeting will follow. 

The SCCMA is planning an all day educational conference in March. More information ot follow.  We have held this for quite a few years now, and it proves to be a good fundraiser for our chapter.  The SCCMA is also busy planning the 2010 State Conference.  A hotel site has been secured and plans are well underway for that weekend.
